Update
I checked my inbox this morning to find this…
“Dear Aeka
We are happy to hear about your offer, but we have two requests to you.
1. The English patch must be free. We can not give you permission to get
money from an English patch.
2. If an English patch makes any problem, we will not take any responsibility.
We will give you permission to make and release an English patch if you keep
these two requests.
We attached the scenario of “Niji no Kanata ni” on this e-mail, and we think
it will help with your translating.
We hope you do great work, and we hope you enjoy other games too.
After you finish to make an English patch, we would like you to contact us
again.
We would like to enjoy the game with your English patch.
Sincerely yours,
HARE (Chairman of #define)“

we are going to start this project after Dote is finished

Pingback: encubed » News Archive » Another doujin game maker allows fan translation
that’s good

If only mainstream VN developers could be more cooperative like doujin creators… Anyway, it’s good news! Kep up the good work!
Thanks for the patch~
Seems like this project finally get’s more (well deserved) attention.
Also, I will just leave this here *cough*[020920] [Pianissimo] にゃんにゃこにゃん*cough*
Thanks for all the post everyone :O,
When I replay tested it, I found a few lines we missed on editing >_< but those will be fixed in patch 1b (covering umi and nami's story!) so stay tuned
so why will this not be finished??
To put it bluntly, it won’t be finished because the people caved to a baseless Cease and Desist letter. Considering they already had permission to translate it, sending a cease and desist letter afterwards seems ridiculous. But, apparently they don’t want to fight it in spite of the permission they were originally given.
we never had permission from Visual/Arts nor 13cm to translate “dote up a cat” you are confusing it with the permission allowed to translate “Over the Rainbow” by the company #define.
I hope that clarify it, also if you look on the VNDB page for Dote it appears /jp/ is doing something with it, I just hope they do not ruin it like the “Flyable heart” translation….
